Every child's journey begins with care

PERSONAL STATEMENT

Weber School Board is working hard to give every student what he/she needs to succeed!

I want to be part of that effort so I am enthusiastically and wholeheartedly running to be re-elected to Weber School Board-District 6. I would GREATLY appreciate your support!!

As a present Weber School District board member, I have had the opportunity to serve with the most remarkable educators to make Weber one of the outstanding districts in the state of Utah. Our district’s administrators and teachers are among the finest; our parents and families among the most supportive.

Today we face a challenging time in education when administrators, teachers and parents must unite as never before to provide a positive, constructive environment to assure the brightest future for Weber School District students.  I want to be part of that environment as a connecting force for teachers, parents and administrators.

As a board member, I promise to continue to be responsive to all voices throughout the Weber district, and in so doing, help bring about that “brightest future” for each and every student in our district.

Endorsements

“I have known Janis for 38 years. I had the pleasure of teaching her son in my first 4th grade class at Green Acres Elementary. Janis was an awesome, involved, helpful mom and room mother. Over the years, I have kept in contact with her and her son. I am retired from teaching 2nd grade at Bates Elementary. I have had several conversations with Janis about school. She is always willing to listen to the concerns we teachers have. She follows through and is thorough in her research. I have especially appreciated her genuine concern and interest in how we feel and how things impact student learning as well as how it might affect teacher burnout. I know Janis’ care for the students, teachers, and leaders of Weber County schools is real.”

Teacher — Linda Gubler, retired 2nd Grade Teacher, Bates Elementary

“I have had the opportunity to sit with Janis Christensen on the Weber Board of Education. She has been a valuable addition to the Board and has added insight and wisdom to the discussions. She listens to what others have to say and asks questions to clarify and understand the circumstances. The Board of Education has the responsibility for the finances of the school district as well as the direction of the people who are employed by the district with the children’s education being their focus. Janis has shown her love for the children many times with a clear focus on what is in their best interest. Janis will listen and help find a way to get questions and concerns answered by finding someone who will be familiar with the situation and try to find an answer to the question or concern. A vote for Janis Christensen will be a vote for an honest, trusted member of the Weber Board of Education.”

Former Administrator and Weber School District Board Vice-President — Dean Oborn (Former Principal of Roy Junior High School and Weber High School)

“Janis Christensen is a force of nature! She won’t stand idly by just warming a chair at meetings. She actively guides our school district to exceed expectations and improve the education experience for students, parents, teachers, and administrators. As a parent with four kids at a Weber County elementary school, I vote for Janis because I want my kids to have the best school experience possible.”
